The Macau banking industry has grown with Macau and has always supported their economic development as well as maintained their social stability. Considering the economic impact of the new pneumonia epidemic on all industrial sectors and Macao residents, The Macau Association of Banks is analyzing the feasible measures to help customers with financial difficulties in accordance with laws and regulations and also in compliance with regulatory directives.

With the support and encouragement of the Monetary Authority of Macau (AMCM) allowing banks to provide convenience to affected customers based on their own risk tolerance, allowing local loan customers, including individual customers, merchants and corporate customers, to pay in mortgages on property for a period of six months, they will only pay interest to the bank with the payment of capital suspended during that period of time in order to alleviate the monthly charges for repaying loans.

The member banks of the Association will accept and review customer applications in accordance with the guidelines of AMCM. In case of the above customers who have financial difficulties, please contact the loan bank in time and submit an application. Member Banks will waive any fees and no additional interest for this application.

As each bank has different circumstances, the specific application method is determined and announced by each bank.
