The “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Finance Forum 2022” was held in Macao from 12th - 13th of January and was co-organized by the The Macau Association of Banks (ABM), the China Capital Market Research Institute of Renmin University of China, the Associação de Amizade de Membros da Conferência Consultiva Política do Povo Chinês na Instância de Província de Macau (CCPPC) and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin – Finance Institute.  With the theme of “Modern Finance Support the Greater Bay Area to Establish the New Development Pattern” and marking Macao and Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin as the starting point, government officials, academic experts and industry elites, etc. were invited to participate in this year’s forum to discuss the changes and trends of current financial position.  Two important research results on financial topics, namely “A Feasibility Study on the Policies, Laws and Practices of Realizing the Free Convertibility and Circulation of Macau Patacas/Hong Kong Dollars and RMB in the Hengqin In-Depth Cooperation Zone” and “Research on the Strategic Positioning, Overall Design and Financial Supervision Innovation of the Establishment of RMB Denominated and Settled Financial Assets Trading Market” This year’s guest of honor included: Chairperson of the University Council of Renmin University of China, Mr. Zhang Donggang, Representative from Macao SAR government/Secretary for Economy and Finance and Director of the Executive Committee of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Mr Lei Wai Nong, President of Macao Legislative Council, Mr. Kou Hoi In, Director-General of Economic Affairs Department of Macau Liaison Office, Mr. Liu Decheng, President of Macao Chamber of Commerce and Vice-Chairman of Macao Legislative Assembly, Mr. Chui Sai Cheong, Dean of the Research Institute of Capital Market of Renmin University of China, Mr. Wu Xiaoqiu, Vice President of Renmin University of China, Mr. Du Peng, Chairman of Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM), Mr. Chan Sau San, Members of Macao Foundation, Mr. Au Weng Chi, Chairman of ABM, Mr. Ip Sio Kai, President of CCPPC, Mr. Ng Si Fong.  More than 300 guests including Executives and representatives from member banks attended the event.
